Beautiful but definitely more traditional and slightly formal feeling is this white kitchen with a deep navy almost grey island via houzz. As for an all white and a neutral color scheme almost anything can match it. The gray island is a needed contrast to the dark wood flooring. Although the contrast is subtle it s just enough to anchor this airy kitchen.
Warm hues obviously add warmth while cool hues introduce a refreshing vibe. Small hints of teal supplied by the roman shade over the window and colored glassware peeking through glass front cabinets bring refreshing color to the neutral space. Last but not least professional appliances provide the tools of the trade needed to make this one hardworking kitchen. White inset cabinets quartzite countertops subway tile and nickel accents provide a traditional feel.
I am already paranoid enough about having white cabinets around the perimeter. Not a reddish cherry but more brown. This rustic kitchen s antique white cabinets allow the dark island stain to command its fair share of attention in a space full of visual intrigue. Add a stain or glaze to one of your cabinet colors.

Our kitchen is white with a stained cherry island. Anyway i went with stained because i have 2 boys and i knew the island would get the most use. This kitchen features crisp white outer cabinets that contrast with a warm wood white washed island. A painted island or lower cabinets can break up a wood on wood look.
Nothing says classy like a combination of dark and light. White kitchen island with a granite top.
