The sink should have landing areas on both sides where you can rest food items or cookware.
In standard kitchens the wall cabinets are typically 30 or 36 inches tall with the space above enclosed by soffits. The layout colour set up and decoration will make your kitchen unique. A 12 inch or 15 inch tall cabinet fits neatly over a refrigerator. For example knowing that we wanted a double oven as opposed to a range oven combo.

For a landing area next to your cooktop give yourself at least 12 inches of counter space. And for a landing area next to your sink give yourself at least 18 inches.
