On wall cabinets knobs are usually placed 2 1 2 to 3 from the bottom corner of the door.
Knobs are usually fitted using the 2 thirds 1 third rule. Follow exact pattern for the lower cabinet doors as well. When in doubt consider specifying pulls for drawers and knobs for cabinet doors. On base cabinets they are placed 2 1 2 to 3 from the upper corner of the door.
Put your new handles on if you re not doing a simple swap check you ve marked the drill points correctly by taking your handle and placing it next to your pencil marks once everything is lined up drill a hole all the way through the door. On lower cabinets place knob holes 2 1 2 down from the top of the door. Depending on the type of handle your cabinets use you may need two holes per handle. Check the marks are in the right position drill your holes.
Cabinet knobs are placed opposite of door hinges. The bottom of the pull on upper cabinets and top of the pull on lower cabinets is centered on the corner. Move in a minimum of 1 inch and mark the space. Figure 4 knob mounted on wall cabinet figure 5 pull mounted on wall cabinet.

This placement is also the most practical putting the handles as much within reach as possible. Keep the template over the centre point and mark out the drilling points that meet your handles. When positioning a cupboard handle or knob we always suggest that base unit handles should go towards the top of the door while wall unit handles are fixed towards the bottom of the door.
